This year, nine bands — from Pan American and marimba, to singer-songwriters and rock, to Afridelic, electro groove and neo-soul — will perform in four locations across East Austin from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 21. MapJam, sponsored by KUTX 98.9, The Austin Music Experience, is free and open to the public. This is an all-ages event.

MapJam is an extension of the Austin Music Map, a web-based, interactive, community documentary project that lets users “play” the city. The map goes beyond the usual suspects on the Austin music scene in search of the not-so-well-known places where music is being made. Explore the map at www.austinmusicmap.com.
